The choir is directed by Dr Malcolm Moffat. He was a music scholar at the King’s School Tynemouth before reading music at the University of Cambridge, specialising in renaissance music. He returned to the North East to study medicine at Newcastle University and is now an Specialty Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Malcolm has directed the Northern Doctors Chorus since its inception in 2o12.
